WordPress Theme was created to be THE one stop resource for WordPress Themes.
Several sites out there have 50-100 themes available for download, but many times the themes these sites have available overlap with themes located at other sites. By the time someone has visited 4 or 5 sites that hold 100 themes each they very possibly might have only seen 200 or so themes with the remainders being duplicates.
WordPress Theme is an attempt to be the ultimate overlapper. We activly visit dozens of sites every month searching for new themes to offer for download. We also have a working relationship with several theme designers who post their themes to WordPress Theme as soon as they’re available for download.
We originally toyed with the idea of using a dynamic theme switcher to view themes but in the end decided to offer 400×300 pixel screenshots of all themes. In so doing we are able to drasitcally reduce the load on our server, free up harddrive space, and in the end offer a better service.
